Leads: 18
Treasurer’s
Report: $329.62
Miscellaneous Business:
Hope asked again for those who aren’t getting the minutes to let
her know via email (h@coldwellbanker.com) so they can be added to the
list. There were several testimonials this morning.
Showcase: Elizabeth
Riley Insignia Signs
The company started
out as an offshoot of Elizabeth’s in-laws’ golf course as
they were always making signs for various golf events. When the golf course
was sold, the sign company was the main focus and as of January 2007 will
have been in business for 5 years. A wide variety of products are offered
from signs outside of businesses, to vehicle lettering and full wraps,
to banners and promo items. There is a full graphic design staff or customer’s
original artwork can be used. Any style of “look” from historical
to modern cutting edge can be produced.
DAPN Meeting
Minutes August 9, 2006
Attendance:
13
Leads: 8
Treasurer’s
Report: N/A
Miscellaneous Business: Hope
asked for updated email addresses for those who aren’t receiving
the minutes. There was a short discussion of what was happening in downtown
Dayton. Concern was also expressed about the DAPN website not being updated
properly and the same for the brochure. There was no showcase scheduled,
so Gary Krodel volunteered to give one.
Showcase: Gary Krodel
Samrenee International (Quixtar)
Gary started by telling
the group he had hit the “glass ceiling” about 7 years ago
in his job with the trucking industry and how frustrating that was. He
wanted more for his family and so decided to go into business for himself.
He became involved with Quixtar, which he pointed out is not a pyramid
business, but one in which you build a team and through that team you
receive residual income. It’s not a get rich scheme and it takes
about 2-5 years in order to build a good income stream. Products are offered
on the website that people use everyday. They are quite varied by category.
The website receives 40-50 million hits per day.
DAPN Meeting
Minutes August 2, 2006
Attendance: 9 members and 2 guests
Leads: 7
Treasurer’s Report: $281.62
Miscellaneous Business: Showcases are desperately needed!! Contact Steve
Earnest to sign up. Curtis Caden of Caden Plumbing was voted in.
Showcase: Claude Hartman Nikken
Claude spoke on several aspects
of health. Health, at its simplest form, starts at the cellular level.
We don’t think of ourselves in those terms, but we should.
Japan is the healthiest country
in the world and also has the #2 economy in the world. Japan takes a pro-active
approach to health. For the most part, we take a re-active approach and
that is what Claude and others are trying to change.
Nikken’s approach and
philosophy on health are natural ones. Health as a total picture is Nikken’s
goal, not just one or two areas of life. The systems in our bodies are
so intricately connected that this whole wellness approach is key.
One of the systems that Claude
spoke about today is our lungs. We breathe in 56 pounds of air everyday.
As a result, our lungs come in contact with the outside environment in
a big way. Montgomery County has the dubious distinction of having the
10th dirtiest air in the country. The Nikken air cleaner has 5 stages
of filtration including a HEPA filter, giving its users the healthiest
air possible. Unlike most of the other air cleaners out there, including
the most popular one, the Nikken air cleaner does not create ozone, which
is toxic to humans at that level.
Nikken also has fitness shoes
that give the wearer a workout just by simply wearing them and going about
their normal day. Nikken wants to make total health simple and easy.
Claude also touched on the
Nikken sleep system and its many components, that work to balance your
body temperature and re-energize it, all while you simply sleep, something
we all do anyway.
Water is another item that
Nikken focuses on. Their system not only removes the bad things from the
water we drink, but it adds back all the good things that should be in
our water. There are several options offered by Nikken from large counter
top models to individual water bottles.
Thanks to a growing number
of people here in the US, the tide is slowing turning and we are becoming
more aware of our health and what we can do to improve it and prevent
it from becoming a problem.
DAPN Meeting
Minutes July 26, 2006
Attendance:
10 members and 1 guest
Leads: 4
Treasurer’s
Report: none
Miscellaneous
Business: none
Showcase: Curtis Caden Caden Plumbing, Inc.
The focus of Curtis’
showcase was on water quality and conservation. The demand for water keeps
increasing while the supply is remaining the same. As a result, the EPA
is issuing new standards for the amount of water used per flush. The standard
now is 1.6 gallons per flush and the new would be 1.3 gallons per flush.
There are many concerns as
to water quality, rangeing from dirt and rust to industrial and agricultural
chemicals. Fortunately there are quite a few solutions as well. Fluoride
in water is a hotly debated topic these days and the only way to remove
it is by using a reverse osmosis system.
Wrapping up his showcase,
Curtis showed several tools that are used in the plumbing business and
asked for guesses as to what they were for… while several were correctly
identified, several were a mystery until Curtis explained them.

Quick Books Pro Advisor and has been working with Quick Books Pro for
10+ years. In order to determine the best type of system for her clients,
a personal consultation takes place, preferably at the client's location,
so Star can tailor the system to each client's needs. Several factors
are taken into consideration, including what system is currently being
used, the type of reports needed by the client as well as the nature of
the business. In addition to setting up a system, Star can also troubleshoot
problems in existing systems.
